This was by far the most difficult tournament Riot has played in many years (if not ever). The competition was incredible. We came out flat and unprepared for Uno, a truly fine team who gained international recognition at ECC. They had every throw in the book and played very well to their strengths. If not for limited numbers in a long tournament, I am certain Uno could have made it past any of the other seven quarterfinalists, and would have been a serious contender for the championship.
Aside from the great international aspect to ECC (Revolucion obviously being no one to sneeze at), it only reminded me how difficult the Northwest Region will be to get out of this year—Regionals will probably be our second most difficult tournament ever. Thanks again to all the organizers, sponsors and volunteers.
